Took a trip down to Mighty Thredz today to shoot some photographs for a magazine article. Got to go behind the scenes of the clothing line industry. Saw a lot of cool artwork, photography, graphic shirts and met some really cool people. Took a lot of pictures but they’ll be in the article so I’ll only be showcasing a few.
San Jose’s clothing line industry is definitely more of a family environment rather than a competitive one. For my school’s magazine, I have to write about this artist world and how Mighty Thredz, a print and design company, plays a role in it.
Visiting the shop for interviews was incredibly refreshing. I had the opportunity to interview Julius and Valerie from Mighty Thredz as well as Leeroy of IC3… all while cracking jokes with the production team in the middle of their work. The three interviewees emphasized two factors for the success of SJ clothing lines: the relationship with customers/clients and the relationship with other brands. In a nutshell, a clothing brand is for the people— it needs others to grow so it must help others grow in return.
This exposure of the local clothing brand atmosphere reignites my anxiousness to get back on the full-throttle Empire grind. But for now, I need to write the actual article and end this blog haha =P
Peace out, girl scouts.

Big thanks to Ms. Christopher Columbus for taking the pictures for my article. They’ll help the article come to life, missy, so thank you.
