The Perfect Game Week pt. 1: Geo Caches and Games
I was thinking to myself , “Shit. I don’t have anything interesting to blog about for Empire.” And then! I realized that summer has been hella mfkn good this week and it is only Thursday!
For the sake of keeping posts relatively short, I’ll make two separate posts of The Perfect Week.
So on Sunday, after I posted about the Kalayaan fest and the stickers, my friends and I went out for a birthday celebration. After dinner, we became treasure hunters searching for Geo Caches. GeoCaches are GPS-tracked time capsules that you can log into after finding one and add onto it yourself. Dope, right? The first picture shows the one we found— it was a film tube with little trinkets inside, including the log in.
Monday began as a boring errands day but it ended with good company. I went over to my Ate Rox’s apartment to find a Sonics chili dog, a balloon (my favorites!), and a pile of books waiting for me. The book pile includes The Things They Carried, Confessions of a Yakuza, The Road, and Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. I just recently finished Perks of Being a Wallflower so she gave me more literature to tickle my fancy.
Other than that! More friends came over and we played two games I must recommend:
1. I don’t know what it’s called… but basically there is a topic/question that everyone must answer on a piece of paper. Then, one person will read all the answers out loud as everyone else takes turns in guessing which answer belongs to who. (i.e. What not to say to your in-laws: My answer— I’m sorry, are you the maid?)
2. Spoons. All right. You all know how to play spoons but the way we play at the apartment is that rather than disqualifying the loser, whomever has 4 of a kind gets to draw an inch worth of eye-liner drawn on their face.
Hope you’re having a treasure-hunting/game-playing summer too!
